Marcus Farrand
My name is Marcus Farrand and I grew up in southern California. I studied biology at Westmont College in Santa Barbara where I also played basketball. After working in emergency medical services for a few years, I attended medical school at Rocky Vista University in St. George, Utah. During my third and fourth years, I completed my rotations in southeastern Idaho where I developed a deep appreciation for the wide scope of care and the patient relationships found in family medicine.
I’m very excited to start at St. Joseph and I’m grateful for the supportive atmosphere and full spectrum training that will help me grow into a well-rounded physician. My interests within family medicine include sports medicine and preventative medicine. I also enjoy wilderness and rural medicine because of the unique challenges found in those environments.
While I’m a first time Indiana resident, my wife, Claire, attended Purdue and we have family in the surrounding area. Outside of medicine, I enjoy exercising, playing sports, woodworking, and exploring the outdoors with my wife and dogs.
