Advanced Surgical Specialties

The resident becomes familiar with the scope and practice of ophthalmology and podiatry services through a half-block required rotation in the private offices of Board Certified ophthalmologists and podiatrists. This rotation is taken in the third year of training and includes observation of ophthalmic surgery and podiatric surgery, also available is opportunity for observation of routine ophthalmic and podiatric exams and didactic discussions of common ophthalmic problems. Annually, a workshop in Ophthalmology is provided.
