Lou Ann Hall Matos, DPM

Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science

Undergrad: Received her BS in Biology from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey followed by six years of serving and traveling with the US Navy.
Graduate:  MS in Biomedical Sciences from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA
Medical School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
Bio: Saint Joe felt like home from day one as a student, and thus I am very excited to join the Podiatry Residency team for the next three years.  In my spare time, you can find me practicing yoga, hiking, fishing, camping, or spending time outdoors with my family and husky dog, Luna.  

 

Nicolas Welch, DPM

Barry University in Miami, FL

Undergrad: Received his BS of Health Science from the Brigham Young University-Idaho
Medical School: Barry University in Miami, FL
Bio: I am happily married with three children, and I love spending time with them.  I like to stay active by being involved in sports and being outside with the family. The exceptional community around St. Joseph is what made my family and I excited to call northern Indiana home. The Saint Joseph podiatric residency program and its incredible faculty are professional and skillful, I am excited to learn from them and be part of the team.

Anas Kachlan, DPM

Undergrad: Received his BA of Science in Biology with honors and a minor in Psychology from the University of Illinois-Chicago
Medical School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
Bio: I am passionate about providing exceptional patient care, with a special interest in diabetic limb salvage, trauma, and reconstructive and non-reconstructive foot and ankle surgery. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my family, sports, traveling. I am very excited to be part of the excellent team at Saint Joseph.   

 

Priya Thakkar, DPM

Undergrad: Received her BA in Neuroscience from the Honors College at the University of Illinois at Chicago  
Medical School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science
Bio: I am interested in sports medicine, wound care, trauma, and research. I’m looking forward to bringing my research experience to projects at Saint Joseph. I am also an avid cook and baker and enjoy spending time with my loved ones and traveling. I am excited to join the wonderful podiatric medicine and surgery residency program at Saint Joseph and begin my surgical training. I am passionate about providing comprehensive, compassionate care to my patients. I am committed to providing the highest quality of care possible and always look for ways to improve my skills and knowledge.

Sophie Meier, DPM

Undergrad: Received her BA in Biology from Indiana University Purdue University
Graduate: Received her MS in Biomedical Sciences from Marian University
Medical School: Dr. William M. Scholl College of Podiatric Medicine at Rosalind Franklin University of Medicine and Science  
Bio: As newcomers to the Michiana area, my significant other, Dominick, and I are very excited to explore new restaurants, breweries, hiking & running trails, sporting events, and music venues. We adore our animals as well, Penny the Labrador and Boris the cat. If I am not talking about podiatry or food, I will most likely be talking about my pets. We are excited to call this our home. 

 

Christopher Overton, DPM

Undergrad: Received his BS in Psychology from the University of California, Davis
Medical School: Samuel Merritt University – College of Podiatric Medicine in Oakland, CA
Bio: I am particularly interested in limb preservation and wound care in podiatric medicine. I enjoy interacting with my patients and learning about their goals so we can come to a mutual decision about their care. Outside of medicine, I like to stay active by working out in the gym or cycling with my wife.
