Welcome to Saint Joseph Graduate Medical Education

As host to three residency programs, as well as a fellowship, for practitioners from medical, podiatric, and pharmacy schools, Saint Joseph Health System offers advanced clinical training in an environment optimized for independent advancement and collaborative learning. Each program offers its trainees unopposed access to patients while having ideal collaborators available through the other residencies. This collaboration mimics the skills new physicians and practitioners will need to thrive in the future healthcare environment. Through this we offer technological advancement, clinical excellence, and family-oriented value-based care to our patients and state-of-the-art training to our residents.

About Saint Joseph Health System

The first institution in South Bend to care for the sick, Saint Joseph's Hospital was established in 1882 by the Sisters of the Holy Cross. Today, SJHS is a Ministry Organization of Trinity Health, the fourth largest Catholic healthcare system in the country. We are proud to provide private rooms at all of our hospital, as we strive to create a healing environment and deliver excellence in the patient care experience. Family Medicine Center

The Family Medicine Center functions as a private office with regularly scheduled office hours. In all cases, patients are selected as family units in order to provide the experience of caring for an entire family.

On June 11, 2012, the Graduate Medical Education Program, including the Family Medicine Center, moved to a new 24,000 square foot location in the Medical Office Building connected to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center in Mishawaka. The beautiful, new offices are more spacious and modem for our residents, faculty and valued patients.

Our close proximity to the hospital increases convenience, access and learning opportunities for our residents and faculty. In addition, it gives our patients access to expanded care, including laboratory, X-ray, pharmacy, and a full array of other outpatient services within the Medical Office Building and connected hospital.
