Matthew Heussner

Hello, my name is Matt Heussner and I am originally from Rochester Hills in Southeast Michigan. I graduated from Northern Michigan University with a degree in Community Health Education and then went to Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine for medical school. I spent 2 years at my base hospital not far from here in St. Joseph, Michigan. Although not originally from the region I fell in love with the Michiana area and that is what initially attracted me to the program. I then interviewed here and realized this was one of the few places that seemed to truly offer a family like atmosphere! My interest in medicine include full scope family practice, palliative care, and procedures, including POCUS.

During my freetime I enjoy a variety of outdoor activities including sailing and boating, fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and gardening. Along with my gardening I have been growing hot peppers and cross breeding them in an attempt to make a new line.
