Cancer Care

Cancer Care

At Saint Joseph Health System, we're called to care for you and your family at every stage of your medical journey. Our oncologists, nurses and staff are inspired by faith and provide people-centered care. Our values give us strength and do what needs to be done to ensure you receive the individualized treatment you deserve.

We’re with you on this journey.

Our continuum of care is part of a seamless experience that begins with Patient Navigation. Your Patient Navigator, a dedicated oncology nurse, will guide you and your family every step of the way and help ensure you receive access to the care you need. We offer Certified Genetic Counselors so you can identify hereditary and environmental cancer risks. And our Certified Clinical Trials Researcher partners with your physician to help identify and enroll you in national oncology clinical trials. And when the time comes, our Survivorship Navigator will meet with you one-on-one to make sure you understand and have access to the resources and support available to you post-treatment.

A collaborative approach to caring for our community

At Saint Joseph Health System, decisions are made using the latest cancer research and current data. We believe in access to leading healthcare and peace of mind. That’s why we partner with Michiana Hematology Oncology Advance Center for Cancer Care for an ongoing series of weekly, monthly and bi-monthly cancer forums where local oncology and hematology experts discuss individual patient cases in a multidisciplinary setting to learn, advise and recommend the best course of treatment.

Mobile Medical Unit and RiverBend Cancer Services

With our Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), we’re able to provide exams, screenings and vital care to women in need throughout Michiana with our clinic on wheels. And through our partnership with RiverBend Cancer Services, we’re able to provide you with extra assistance, education, wellness and support. At the RiverBend Wellness House, individuals can gain more control over their emotional and physical well-being during their treatment phase. Others who have finished treatment and want to rebuild their emotional and physical strength can participate in fitness classes, support groups and education programs. We also offer rides for patients to doctor appointments and treatments and have provided more than 1,200 rides since our pilot program began in 2015.
