A customized plan for you.

The average woman’s risk of breast cancer over her lifetime is 12.5 percent. However, several factors may elevate a woman’s risk above average. Some of these include family history, menstrual history and prior abnormal cells on breast biopsies. Other important modifiable lifestyle factors include obesity, poor diet, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol intake and smoking.

Most women do not know their personal risk of breast cancer. The American Cancer Society defines high risk as a lifetime risk of 20 percent or more, moderate risk as a lifetime risk of 15–20 percent, and normal risk as a lifetime risk of less than 15 percent.

Do you know your risk? RiskPlus is a breast cancer risk screening program that includes a comprehensive review of each woman’s personal risk factors to identify her individual risk. A personalized program of screening and risk reduction is then developed based on that woman’s risk factors.

Also, if you have been wondering, “Can a CBC detect breast cancer?,” complete blood count (CBC) tests are sometimes used for cancer/tumor markers to detect cancer activity in the body. We will advise you if this step is needed in your situation.
