Compassionate cancer care is an essential part of our commitment to cancer management for you, your family and the Michiana community. The Garcia Family Foundation Inpatient Oncology Unit was specially designed to create a soothing environment for patients with cancer. Inside, you’ll find a multidisciplinary team approach that enables us to provide the coordinated care you need during this difficult time.
Our team of experts includes:
- Nurses
- Oncology clinical nurse specialist
- Oncologists & physicians who specialize in cancer treatment
- Case manager
- Chaplain
- Clinical dietician
- Oncology pharmacist
- Physical, occupational & speech therapists
Each cancer care nurse attends an Oncology Nursing Society chemotherapy/biotherapy provider course in order to administer medications to our patients. This course is nationally recognized and provides a comprehensive overview of the knowledge needed to administer chemotherapy/biotherapy agents.
The Garcia Family Foundation Inpatient Oncology Unit also includes a large Hospice Room to accommodate patients with special needs or a longer length of stay. Our goal is to provide exceptional care for effective cancer care management and treatment for the highest quality of life.
