General X-ray and fluoroscopy refers to the most basic of imaging procedures, all of which use a low dose of radiation to produce an image of a body part.

Digital X-ray at SJHS enables the interpreting physician to control and manipulate images in ways that improve the accuracy of the interpretation. Films are stored on an image archive system so your physician can view the images from a secure computer remotely. Patient can also receive a copy of their films on CD to take to their physician. Sometimes a contrast material, commonly referred to as "dye", is required to enhance particular areas of the body.

X-Ray services are available at our Mishawaka and Plymouth Medical Centers and at the Saint Joseph Medical Imaging Center. X-ray is also available in our Emergency Departments for quick access during emergency situations.
