SJRMC Accepting Local Artist Submissions for New Hospital
Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center announces a call to artists for an open juried competition.
Spirited architecture and perceptive design have ensured the new, world-class, $355 million Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center is unlike any hospital you've ever seen. The new hospital is scheduled to open on December 14, 2009 in Mishawaka, IN, and local artists are encouraged to submit up to three pieces for consideration.
Three distinctive areas located in the hospital will feature the selected artist's work, which will be displayed in the cafeteria, labor & delivery unit and pediatrics. The cafeteria will feature a mural to cover a space of approximately 17' x 17'. The labor & delivery unit and pediatrics will feature two or three dimensional work- painting, collage and mixed media (no photography).
Minimum size is 30" x 40" and maximum size is 40" x 40" (including framing). Describe how each submission relates to Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center and the proposed area.
Artists must be able to drop off submissions for Pediatrics and the Labor & Delivery areas on October 27, 28 or 29 during the hours of 9 am – 4 pm at Office Interiors, located at 1415 University Dr. in Granger, IN. No shipping of artwork is allowed. Mural entries must be submitted as digital images, in jpeg format, with a viewing screen size of at least 4" x 6" by October 29.
Chosen artists to have work completed and ready to be security hung, if applicable, by November 30, 2009. Saint Joseph Regional Medical Center will cover the costs of materials and framing to be security hung, if applicable.

Notification of acceptance of artwork will be on November 4th. Artists must be able to pick up submissions between November 5 – 6, 2009. Submissions will be juried by a panel of professionals and advisors.
