This facility would not have been possible without our amazing partners in construction, and the more than 1.7 million man-hours that went into the building of your new hospital

Over the three-year period, SJRMC worked with more than 100 different vendors and subcontractors to complete this massive undertaking.

Construction

  • $163 million awarded to businesses within 50 miles
  • $208 million awarded to businesses within 100 miles
  • $7 million awarded to Minority Business Enterprise/Women’s Business Enterprise (MBE/WBE) firms

Design

  • $1 million MBE/WBE participation
  • $2.4 million to local furniture contractors

More than half a million dollars in contracts was awarded to other MBE/WBE firms.

Special thanks and appreciation goes to the City of Mishawaka and our local skilled trades, whose efforts and superior quality work contributed to the timely completion of your new hospital.

Minneapolis-based Mortenson Construction joined forces with local construction firm Tonn & Blank to form MTB, and proved to be the right construction management firm for the job. In addition to bringing their strong focus on safety, high tech construction modeling, and green guidelines for healthcare, MTB embraced the mission of SJRMC.

MTB’s leadership and employees contributed to many of our outreach programs, including food drives, the collection of school supplies, and adopting families for various holidays. In addition, the company held a golf outing with funds benefiting the Sister Maura Brannick, CSC Health Center and participated with a local build for Habitat for Humanity.

Midwest Construction Magazine recently named Mortenson the 2009 Midwest Contractor of the Year – and in our eyes there was no one more deserving.

To Our Community
